Nail It! (Part II)

The part that we all like - painting nails!!! (shouldn't be a pain though - if you're having trouble, go to manicurist or take a toothpick, wrap it in a thin cotton layer and dip in the nail-remover - voila!)

Colors and shapes that inspire us and that are oh sooo trendy!

Metallic shine & matte touch - a reverse ''frenchie'', glitter and deep red - everything to draw attention to you and you only!
Nude color is always trendy, while these pointy nails add edge and yet subtle sexiness of expensive lingerie...

Transparent nails ARE something that is completely new, yet, considering the time we live in, it is abooout time to move on towards some super-futuristic, unconventional, awesome inventions!
Spring 2012 is also all about rich, bright colors, stripes and squares of contrasting tones. Let your imagination go wild!

The array of colors that are on the market is just crazyy, but it is important to not 'lose' yourself and pay attention to quality, and what you have in mind (yes, once again) - go for contrasting colors this new season, but do not forget about nudes too!!

Nail It! (Part I)

Nails...the lavish accessory that is given to us to strike and stroke...egos, fashion nerds, imagination aaand constantly surprise even ourselves with bold colors, shapes and style! It is very important to care as the strong nail will grow faster and last longer (acrylic nails can do, too), thus a good routine for hands is essential - herbal baths, scrubbing once in every 2 weeks, moisture, special attention to cuticles, and vitamins of course!

Once that's been taken care of, the shape and the color choice is always an ultimate question...We let YOU chose !!!^^

Oval/Almond Shape - a classical shape, yet famous for its feminine and classy look. It adds length to a nail and has a nice curve!

Square Shape - the French manicure must do & have, a classic of its own with acrylic nails as well, can look neat but unfortunately, is just too often seen as a vulgar, dirty 10 layered piece of plastic.
*not recommended for short and wide nails - will only make them wider, trust me. Makes longer and narrow fingers more balanced.
Squoval Shape - a combination of square shape without harsh angles. First builds it square & make sure the sidewalls are straight, then tilt the file underneath the corners and file back and forth from the underneath up. This will gradually take the corners off.

Round Shape - the round shape is more conservative it creates a more natural and unnoticeable look and can also soften hand features by providing a well-kept and subtle nail outline.
*a good tip to remember is to visualize making a square, filing the side walls straight out, then simply round the corners with moderate angles to complete the shape. The finished round nail should be slightly tapered and extend just past the tip of the finger.
Pointed Shape - this risque shape is aggressive and sexy, so use at your own risk!
*Smaller hands with smaller nail beds can use a pointed nail to create a subtle appearance of length, while long, slender nail beds take pointed nails to a more noticeable and extreme level.
As you can see there are not too many ways to shape the nail, but each shape brings a different ''mood'' to the whole look you might be having in mind, thus know in advance what shape to ask the manicurist if you have a business lunch next day!
Second part of Nail It! is on its way...
